CharlieSWI went in to Costco and got ONLY the windshield wipers I went for... Of course, then I stopped at the pump and filled the truck up with gas!

SWMBO is opposed to any larger a TV than what's currently in the family room, but I believe I can bump it to a 50" TV in the same space as the current 46" TV. Not a lot of gain, but every inch counts
If you state it to her exactly like that, how could she possibly disagree.

lizardman_uMy wife and I have been using their two day grocery service (non-perishable items) to avoid getting items not on our list... this works okay until the notification that we need X amount of dollars to avoid shipping fees.... then we get an item or two not on our list.

OKCGeneOKC’s first Costco is opening in May. I’ve been a Costco member for close to 10 years, I always take at least an extra empty suitcase if I’m flying (really, I’ve got one that is a perfect tight fit inside the other, matching) or drive my car and bring it back full.

Oz_ShadowAll the time. As to spending too much every time, I have found that when I run in for a case of water it is best to buy six cases. It fills the cart and slows me down enough that I usually can only throw instuff from the end caps.

Check one out when you get a chance.
Warehouse type store. Mostly very high quality stuff at low prices.
The house brand is "Kirkland Signature." Everything, without exception, that carries this brand, is very high quality. The corporate buyers seem to be pretty picky.
If you wear glasses, you won't find a better deal on getting your prescription filled.
Hearing aids are as good as any that you can find, at a fraction of the cost of the same brands at hearing aid stores.
Gas (Top Tier) is always the cheapest around.
Interstate batteries for the car, lower cost than at auto stores, and Costco has a better warranty.
Attitude toward customer service is top notch.
And, there are those huge 1/4 pound all-beef hot dogs at the food court, buck fifty including refillable soft drink.

I would not drive 150 miles to a Costco (or Sam's Club) unless I lived
way out in the sticks, local options were limited, and I had a list of stuff I wanted to buy in bulk to last me a while.

Jimbo54I will be going to Costco this afternoon to pick up a prescription. I know better to not get a cart because there will be items I had no intension of buying that will end up in it. As an example, if they have King Crab legs I'll probably pick some up because we are getting hungry for it. Oh and I can't forget a couple of jars of Tasso's double stuffed giant green olives and a roasted chicken. Wait, I can't forget the Kirkland bacon and canned Albacore. All this to save a couple bucks on a prescription.

Jim

tlbailey1Only when I go in with my wife, or she texts me that she added something to the list (We use the free OurGroceries app, which is awesome, BTW).
I'm pretty good at only getting what is on the list. I never stop for any samples, etc. Spare time is rather limited, I'm not wasting it in a Costco, spending money on something I didn't really need.
(Before we had kids? EVERY OTHER TRIP! It and Sam's club sucked a bunch of money out of my wallet.)
