What happened to Sapper Steel? Did he pass?

Yes, Sap passed. Unexpectedly suddenly.
So did Gabby. Who here remember this fine gentleman?

I've been wondering about him and about Spectre lately.

I had the pleasure of meeting him in person. Range day didn't work out, but we had a good breakfast with two other members.

And yes the loss of JALLEN sucked. A lot of people felt a great disturbance in the Force when he passed.

JALLEN was one of my first SF respondents in a thread where I managed to step on my own dick. Let me know I was being a bit of an asshat in the most cordial manner Big Grin

Another that misses docSteve’s presence, among others.

Seldom do I hear one, but anytime, day or night, I hear that "whomp whomp whomp" of a Huey, I still run outside like I was 8 years old, and think of Pete.

And I remember when he posted about "selling a lot of guns, quickly", and had a sinking feeling, not realizing the seriousness of what he was dealing with.

I remember too Sigmonkey. Also, his little Grandson looked just like him. I believe I recall Gabby 12131. Not so well however.

I do miss JALLEN. He always answered any questions I posed to him and was a wealth of knowledge on many subjects. Bruce Lee said the key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering. I won't forget him.

I miss reading JALLEN’s daily article postings. Frown

I miss jallen too. He was special for sure, a double cut above. To me he was he was Sigforum's Renaissance Man and I always looked forward to reading his posts. I like listening to smart people in general, especially those who are humble and wise as jallen was. It's no wonder his wife misses him, I can't imagine anyone not missing him.

I think if there's any consolation for having to drink the bitter cup myself, it is that sweet reunion with those I've loved and admired who've gone before. I believe that.

There have sadly been a bunch that have posted their last post (not insulting, meaning that literally)

WE have lots of great folks here, lots of stand up guys/gals and this is a wonderful example of the kindness of friendly strangers.

I'm glad to keep the memory alive of those that have unfortunately left us too soon.

I miss JALLEN too.
Funny how distance works or doesn`t. Somehow we managed to do a video conference many years ago while helping him fix one of his computer/network issues. His image is still burned in my memory. In turn, he was very helpful when I asked his professional opinion and advise.

Had completely forgotten about Spectre but remember how worried we all were when he had his weird (to me) episode and how happy when he returned to us. While growing up, my kids loved his funny videos. They were big fans.
