Spend the little bit more to save yourself the headache and get it from a reputable retailer who won't jack you around.

Sure, you might save a few bucks. Or you might end up getting lured in by the slightly lower price and then getting baited and switched into indefinite backorder, as places like Botach and OpticsPlanet are notorious for doing, and end up having to wait around until they reveal their trap, deal with undoing their bullshit, and then go buy it from a reputable retailer anyway.

So just skip the possible/probable bullshit and go right to ordering it from elsewhere.

Or there are websites like gun.deals where you can search for guns by UPC or SKU and get a list of retailers and prices for comparison. You just have to vet the retailer thoroughly, and make sure you're comparing OTD pricing. Some of the results are lesser known or newer stores. And some of the stores listed will have additional shipping or processing fees beyond the listed price too.

I’ll be the contrarian, I guess. I’ve ordered from them over the years, and have always had great service. They often have lower prices than other online retailers, and have always shipped things out promptly. With all of that said, I’ve never ordered a firearm from them, only misc parts and accessories that could be shipped directly to me.

Same here for non-firearm stuff. Some sales sell out very quickly and shipping can be expensive, but items arrived quickly with no issues.

I ordered from them once before I knew any better. I often wondered if Botach and Dack Outdoors were not the same company, as they had the same business format- order your stuff, wait to see if it ever gets to you and then try to get a refund on it after a month or two of waiting only to find out there is a 20% restocking fee of something they never had to begin with.

I would check on Gunbroker, as I have had some awesome deals lately from some ffl dealers on there.

I took a few chances back when their reputation was really poor and was lucky that they worked out. Years passed but then coincidentally I've placed 2 more orders over the past couple months and those were smooth. Looks like they do have "current stock" indicator now that appears to be accurate, at least for the few items I've ordered. Your mileage may vary...
