As the topic indicates, I had a wheel weight come off the left rear, if that matters. Can I take it to someone and have another one put on? Found a small tire shop in the town I am just outside of at the moment, they rebalanced the tire for no charge. Apparently they didn’t want to break a $20 and said “It only took five minutes, don’t worry about it.”This message has been edited. unless you knew the weight and exact position, the wheel would have to be removed from the car and re-balanced. should be no more than $20 job to re-balance.

Yes, either take the wheel/tire to a shop, or drive the vehicle in. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא שוב!

I'll pile on. Take the car to a tire shop, and have the wheel rebalanced. This should be about a $10 job.

If you bought the tire at a Discount Tire store, they will do it at no charge. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

Great! Sort of thought so, but I wasn’t entirely sure. Didn’t find out until I was on the turnpike. About 60 I felt a vibration, but I could tell it wasn’t in front end, there wasn’t any problems with steering or how the car tracks. From 60 to 75 is where the vibration was the strongest, once at 75 it settled down to an “acceptable” level. Inspected the car at my destination and discovered the missing weight. Thanks again for the help, everyone. ___________________________________________________________________________ "....imitate the action of the Tiger."

This may be a great time to get a Tire Rotation & Balance of all 4 wheels. Ask them to check your spare tire pressure too. I had my spare checked at Discount Tire yesterday, it was at 40 PSI but requires 60 PSI. Spare tires are an out of sight, out of mind thing, always forgotten about. Maintenance Monday, as I call it, was 2 days ago. It’s just my system for vehicle checks. While they have the wheels off, eyeball the brake pads.

Re-balance it. There is no way to know what size of weight came off of where.

Over mileage the balance on a tire/wheel will change with wear. Depending on how old the tires are get the one, or all 4 rebalanced.

The shop that I go to, uses a Nitrogen blend for tires. I think it's 78% Nitrogen. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

If the tires have been replaced the mark from the missing weight may have been from the first set. The correct fix is to rebalance but be prepared to do that to the remaining three to find your problem. _____________________ Be careful what you tolerate. Funny thing, I prefer a 78% nitrogen blend for my tires as well. I thought that I was the only one.

Do they check your blinker fluid, too? The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

Tires should be rotated every 6000 to 10,000 miles for maximum tread life and to maintain even wear. I don't have them re-balanced at that time unless I detect some shake or a problem. i would say if the tires haven't been balanced in 20,000 miles, it wouldn't hurt to have that done. Balance and rotate all four should be about $40. Make sure you use a competent shop.

Told cops where to go for over 29 years… |
I always have them balance and rotate twice a year when they swap in/out the summer/winter air blend... What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

I just had to look it up. I remember when this scam was nation wide. Fact: By volume, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of water vapor, on average around 1% at sea level, and 0.4% over the entire atmosphere.Jun 15, 2018 Are they charging you extra for the Nitrogen? Take it to a tire shop-Discount Tire if there's one local. They've fixed my flats for free. ____________________________________________________ The butcher with the sharpest knife has the warmest heart.
