Does the CF need protecting? Looks like a granite counter-top with that glossy finish. Big Grin

Those are very cool cars, and the best part is that it's a Toyota.

This is the direction Subaru should have taken the WRX instead of trying to make everyone happy. Also it's more interesting than a Civic Type R or Golf R IMO.

Ummm…we don't know that.

Feel free to look up the replacement cost. (Dings, scratches, bird shit, etc) Last time I checked it was the better part of $20k. Seibon makes an aftermarket replacement for something like $2800. But yeah, it’s needs PPF, gloss or matte, or you take it to an auto body shop and have a couple coats of clear coat put on it.

Looks good in white as well:

Did they remove your sharkfin to apply the PPF? I saw a video of an install. Probably took as long to remove the shark fin as it did to apply the wrap or PPF they were installing.

I didn’t watch him install it. He did bitch about it and say it was a PITA. Been using the same PPF shop for 16 years. They know what they are doing. They’ll either remove the fin or hand cut around it. I’ve watch them work on Veyrons, Ferraris, etc, and hand cut the entire PPF film. I always get it on the entire front end, rockers, roof, and behind all 4 wheels. Those guys with the 6 and 7 figure cars get the whole car PPF’d.

The Tuxmats are the floor liners to use on this car. And there are no drill front and rear license plate options. I’ve pushed the car to the limit in the corners, needs new dampers. Too bad they didn’t put the Morizo edition mono tubes on the Circuits. I tried to get a Morizo (grey) but the stealers were batshit with the markups. I had to work to get MSRP and got the last Heavy Metal allocation for the Gulf States region. PITA.

Definitely want to figure out something for front plate. That was one question I asked before I bought it was if they already installed the bracket.

This came with mats so for the $280 plus tax they charged, I'm going to keep them. Yet another place to stamp GR in this car. I want to add up all the GRs all over the car.

Just leave the front plate off or toss it on the dashboard.

Should have said IMO.

After racing RWD for the last several years and daily driving a rear-biased AWD, I really don't like FWD cars, so I'd take a GR over the Type R, personally. I'm always down for bench racing tho Smile

I have about 12K miles on my GR. Be sure to follow a shorter rec on the oil change interval. 10 K is too long, and oil is cheap. It is one of the easiest cars I have ever had to change the oil.

I was reading about these the other day, I even built one on line. However I don’t want to get rid of the Miata. Those seem really sweet, congrats!

This ain’t just a Corolla! CINO haha, but these hot hatches aren’t just a Corolla, Golf, Civic, Focus, etc. $50k for a HOT hatch these days is about par for the course, or close, especially since you went top of the line.. Badass car dude. I only started driving stick 5 years ago and went with a simpler Mazda3, but I wanted a GTI or similar. Looking at the current hot hatches, I’d probably go GR Corolla, too. Hopefully it lives up to Toyota reputation for reliability/durability, cuz there’s no question that shit has got to be fun to drive!

All three have their charms. I was looking for a manual hot hatch last year, so I did get to test drive a GR Corolla. I do think it was more raucous than the Golf R, but refinement was what I was looking for, so I bought the VW. IMO, you couldn't possibly go wrong with either choice.

I bet those are fun to drive. I knew about the Civic Type R but this is the first time I learned about this Corolla model.

The GR is a raw, angry, basic, gocart. Refined, it certainly is not.

I think I need to look some more, haven't had time, but I'm curious about that one and parking sensors.

I wish STO-N-SHO made one.

I just find it sad that 30 years ago, if you wanted fun you bought a Honda and if you wanted an appliance you bought a Toyota. Now if you want fun you buy a Toyota and if you want an appliance you buy a Honda.

That GR Corolla is what a Civic Si wants to be when it grows up.
