Talk about a racket! Mike Rowe although funny is priced at 200,000. Sleepy Joe is asking above 300 thousand with few takers.Bill Clinton would be entertainng but hardly worth the 250 grand he recently charged. You know see why the keynote speaker for your organization is the guy who lives down the block.

It's the economics of supply and demand. Not too many people in the country is going to want to hear the guy who lives down the block.

For presidents, it's not really their speech that you're paying for but for the inroad to the people they know.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I have some former co-workers who work at the Washington Speakers Bureau. It's the place that books these guys. It's a super lucrative business. I've been to a few of their events, saw Henry Kissinger and Dick Cheney. Mike Rowe would be worth going to see. Clinton and Biden, not so much.

Didn't George H. W. Bush give a speech where he got paid in stock options and it turned out to be worth millions?
