I have not seen people actually using the online order only pickup parking spaces at various retailers. At Tractor Supply store today, with limited parking, the only spots avail, the whole lot completely filled up, were for pickup of online orders only. There were zero cars in those spots, five or six of them, going to waste, with cars circling around waiting to park.

So I parked in one of them, and when I came out, all were filled, but no-one was pickup up any online orders, everyone was in line as normal with their in-store items waiting to check out.

I think this covid thing was taken too far. I see the same parking bullshit reserved spaces for online order only pickups completely vacant as well at the big box hardware stores as well.

I never park in handicapped spaces, but I make an exception for this online pickup only bullshit that nobody uses.

"Hello There ! I just saw something online that you have in the store. Please bring it to me right now, I'll have my credit card ready, so don't keep me waiting. I'm in the F150 parked in the online order "pickup only" parking spot, you can't miss me, I'm the only one parked in there..."

Local Meijer store, has these cutesy “Quick Trip Parking” spaces.

Let them time me and tell me that I have exceeded fifteen minutes, I’ll tell them to staff the Deli better and fix the damn self check lanes that usually seem to have a quarter of them out of service despite all the upgrades they have done to them.

Maybe if those concerns were addressed together with staffing some cashier positions I could get in and out of there quickly.

I park in the Home Depot Pro parking spots. They haven’t t told me exactly what will make me a pro but I assume since I know where to find most items I’m a HD Pro.

But seriously other than handicap and military parking I ignore most other stupid signs it the lot is full.

I was parked in the furthest spot from the store sitting in the car waiting on my wife inside the store. All the other pick up spots were empty. An employee came out and asked me to move. Young kid that made a bad decision. He pointed to a spot that was open. I told him I would just use the handicap spot. ( I don’t leave my placard in the window.)

It's no problem. If there are no spots when I pick up my Publix order, I just wait behind the vehicles parked in those spots until the Publix folks load my vehicle.

I occasionally use the curbside pick-up option when grocery shopping. It is great with small kids.

A few months ago I posted a similar rant here.

Timely post though as I was thinking about reviving it tonight after accidentally pulling into a space marked as pickup #6 and getting yelled at by a guy pushing carts. The other 5 spaces were empty and the parking lot was otherwise full. I sarcastically pointed the other empty spaces, got back in my truck and left.

While not a HD Pro member, HD has decided to spam my email inbox with “pro” emails. I figure that entitles me to park in the pro spaces.

I ran a pickup department and it pissed me off to no end when entitled people parked in the loading zones, because even if there is no one loading at that moment, we easily could have filled every space 5 minutes later while someone took their sweet time shopping inside.

Hey, my Jeep has a battery in it, no?

Compact, fuel efficient, EV vehicles only spots...I park in them all.

I particularly enjoy parking my gas powered Jeep in front of the ubiquitous Tesla charging stations in my town and fake charge it.

Once there was a place where the lot was so full I declared myself "Employee of the Month". Those signs have always annoyed me.

I’m surprised at the number of posts here where people routinely park in spots designated for something else. It is private property, and the business can do what they choose with their parking. If I don’t like it, I can choose to go someplace else to shop. IMHO it is just rude to come onto someone else’s property and not respect their signage, stupid or not. Their business, their rules. Your freedom to choose. Too much self centered entitlement behavior out there already.
