I’ve kept my chess books I bought when I was in Junior High and High School out of all the books I’ve ever had. I’m hoping to get back to reading them. They’re all in the old notation (p-k4) as opposed to the new notation (e4). "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Yes, the old descriptive notation vs the new, at least in the US, algebraic notation. I have many chess books, a lot of them in the old descriptive notation that I purchased many years ago.

I play chess on chess.com. I don't usually play humans, I just do puzzles and play bots. I should play people more, but I hardly have time for an uninterrupted game. Start watching youtubers like Gothan Chess, Anna Cramling, and of course Hikaru. Beagle lives matter. ______ (\ / @\_____ / ( ) /O / ( )______/ ///_____/

In my youth, I would go to the Mechanics Building in San Francisco and play chess with old men. Now, I qualify to be one of the old men. Spending afternoons playing chess certainly is a luxury.
