A great game but must be hard to find people that are familiar with the game today.
Some of those boards are really nice.
I’ve kept my chess books I bought when I was in Junior High and High School out of all the books I’ve ever had. I’m hoping to get back to reading them. They’re all in the old notation (p-k4) as opposed to the new notation (e4).

Yes, the old descriptive notation vs the new, at least in the US, algebraic notation. I have many chess books, a lot of them in the old descriptive notation that I purchased many years ago.

xd45manI play chess on chess.com. I don't usually play humans, I just do puzzles and play bots. I should play people more, but I hardly have time for an uninterrupted game.
Start watching youtubers like Gothan Chess, Anna Cramling, and of course Hikaru.

In my youth, I would go to the Mechanics Building in San Francisco and play chess with old men. Now, I qualify to be one of the old men. Spending afternoons playing chess certainly is a luxury.
