I am looking for some quality polo style shirts for general wear. Golf, casual outings, etc.

I am doing my best to find quality and avoid those companies who are pandering to the current crazy.

Suggestions?

Under Armour polos have been my go-to shirts for years. Hold up well, long enough for my 6'.

Donald Ross. These are by far the best polo shirts I have ever worn. High quality, long-lasting, colorfast. Expensive, but darn well worth it.

Brooks Brothers, if they're still in business.
Shirts are made in China but hold up very well.

Brooks Brothers Polos from the outlet store are good.
Soft and light. I do wish they had a large tall offering.

I have been wearing Grand Slam polo shirts for years.

I try to stock up on them when they are on clearance at Kohls.

They are the only shirt I have found the last 10 years or so that fits my frame well. I sweat a lot and they breathe rather well. Another plus is they come in a variety of styles and colors.

There are two problems they are made overseas and the last four or five years or so they have went up in price.

I'm not sure about pandering, or causes, but I always seem to gravitate towards Lands' End or LL Bean. I've been happy with both.

Duluth Trading.

(Just don't get the ones they offer that are made from t-shirt material; the cut and collar on those is awful.)

It's best to try them on in person, if you have a store near you. Their sizing is a bit wonky, and in most shirts I have to order a size down. But even if you don't have a store locally, you can order online, and the return process is fairly hassle free if needed.

I have a closet full of Columbia polos. They have a bunch of different styles and several also have big & tall sizes. My current go-to is a 3XL in their "utilizer polo". Affordable and they wear really well under constant use and regular washing.

My favorite polo was an Eddie Bauer. Orvis, though not cheap makes a good polo too.

I was looking for Made in U.S.A. if possible.

I had a "chat" session with Duluth customer service re some shirts (not polo shirts), I asked about country of origin.

Agent said "imported."

I asked "imported from where? What country?"

Agent did not know. I said that somebody in the company knows; the shirts don't just arrive autonomously. I requested that she have somebody email me with the answer.

That was last week. Needless to say, I'm still waiting for a response.

Where do you buy yours? If online, what website?

Do you know where (what country) they are made?

I try to avoid made in China when I can, but that's not always practical.
