Needs a bigger boat |
I have some Danners which I like but are a trifle narrow, but I wear some old Dr. Martens Chelsea steel toes most of the time. They are so broken in they feel like tennis shoes. I have wide feet though. MOO means NO! Be the comet!

Salomon Quest 4, this is an updated boot. I’ve worn out 4 pair over the years, which should attest to how well they fit and the comfort. Mine are worn as work boots, putting in quite a bit of time on expanded metal and climbing. The soles of very few boots last 18 months, these do. ----------The weather is here I wish you were beautiful----------

I have heard of Red Wing selling seconds. You have to call their main shop in Minnesota. The defects are cosmetic and typical discount is around 20% _____________

Well what a fantastic thread. I checked out all your guys recommendations. Then I found a local retailer chain company called Boot Barn. Walked in, tried out a whole bunch (lots) of work boots and ended up with these. As hoped, I've spent a full day continuous on a cement driveway, and my feet were fine. Partly because of the good fit, and even more important the quality of construction. Anyway here they are, I paid more, the price shown is obviously an effort by the manufacturer to jettison this particular model. I can't speak for long term durability, since they aren't super high quality compared to the likes of Chippewa, but these are damn good boots: https://www.georgiaboot.com/we...rk-boot/GB00348.html BTW I learned that flat bottom "wedge" soles are designed for flat surfaces, such as hard flooring and concrete, not for outdoor trades and such involving uneven terrain and hills etc., which is my situation. Lommer boots are good if you can wait for them to be made. Carolina Gold boots are good also. Good luck with your search.

Lowa and Redback are all I wear anymore. https://www.lowaboots.com/ https://www.redbackboots.com/ Redback Easy Escapes are my main yard type boot anymore. I have the opposite issue and have a super high arch. I did one of those fancy shmanzy foot analyzer things and I buy Smartfeet Green insoles for my boots that I wear to work 40+ hours a week. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. I've worn Danner Quarry boots for years. Current pair is going on 4 years old. Looked to replace about 6 months ago. They haven't had my size for quite some time now. I wear them 40 hours a week. At 300 bucks a pop they are expensive, but compared to other boots that don't last as long they are the real bargin. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!
