Any chance there used to be a Hot Tub there?
Could be 220v.

Split-phase 240V is typically a simple process of replacing the breaker and reconfigure the panel going from 220 to 110 if that j-box is currently 220V.

But you will need to know the total amp draw for your (all) the kitchen appliance(s), and any other load on that circuit to be certain the wire gauge is sufficient if it is 110V.

And if not already done, use GFCI breaker(s) for the circuit(s).

If I were you, I'd wrap it in plastic so rain water won't get inside. For the time being.

There might have been a hot tub there. That would have been the perfect place. I will have a better idea tomorrow.

I’d unscrew the cover and see what’s inside. If there are wires, check them with a volt meter before touching anything, if I were the seller, I would have turned off the breaker at the other end. You may need to find the breaker and turn it on before you get voltage to test.

Looks small for spa wiring. Most spas need a 50 amp breaker, three 6AWG copper wires and an 8AWG copper ground wire. Even though the pump and heater are 220V, the control panel will be 120V thus the need for a neutral.

I have an inspection coming Friday and will know then. I am curious whether is is 110 or 220. The wife says lets get a hot tub if its 220. Got to love a woman like that!
