Great bike, I'm in leave the bike in stock form crowd, make sure she's road worthy and put some miles on her.

I used to have one, stock. Great bike. Nothing fancy, but good around town.

It looks better like that than its original form. I never liked the styling of the L models. I liked the E models better than either. Back in the day I had a 450E that I rode all over the place. A little later I lusted after an 850G (shaft drive) but couldn't afford it.

leave it stock, freshen up and sell it at auction in Vegas at the Mecum Motorcycle Auction, spend the cash on hookers and blow, play the tables, have great dinners, party like it's 1985!

The bars and seat on that are stock issue, the sissy bar and luggage rack are period correct add ons.

While the cafe racer look is cool, I bet you'd get a lot more looks at it as it sits.

I'll give you 10 packs of Charmin extra soft, 2 packs of paper towels, 1/4 hog with belly, couple of pot roasts in trade...

Lower bars, flatter seat, remove the sissy bar/rack and have fun. I owned a 78 GS750E and a 78 GS1000E, so I am partial to that look. Great bikes.

Whatever you do, it's a nice gift from your friend.

I ride a Honda Valkyrie and it has 6 carbs

Stickman if you need to synch the carbs and don’t have the stuff to do it send me an email and I will let you borrow my digisynch as it will measure 6 carbs on a digital display and makes it a lot easier than using manometers

Just leave it and enjoy it! As shiny as it is, I bet you could find a collector owner and then buy a real scrambler.

I’m thinking stock or Cafe racer. I had a nice Yamaha Maxim very similar.Fun little bike but outgrew it quickly.

At the very least the seat has to go. Any mods I do will be something that can be undone should I ever want to return it to stock.

I’m pretty stoked to get a proper street bike with a Kickstarter.
