This sounds a lot like the action to remove Noriega in Panama for similar reasons.

"Fox is reporting he's just been indicted in New York. Why the hell would they take him to that liberal cesspool New York?"

Understand that this is a Federal Court that happens to be in New York. Not the government of the city or state.

The leftist crowd should be happy that blowing up drug boats may slow down a bit after this.

Now, if something positive can come from within Iran, the Mid East may calm down a bit too without the state sponsor of chaos.

Yes, a peaceful version of transition in Mexico would be nice.
Short term, Cuba gets most of it's assistance from Venezuela, is already contained and under a lot of pressure.
Without that assistance, they will wither away and the locals may handle business with minimal outside help.
Keep your fingers crossed. Should be an interesting week or two.

But the jury pool will still come from that district, no? And the judge?

Seems a bit risky to me.

Anything that Trump does or says, those nutjobs do the opposite. If he said, "Don't jump off that bridge", they'd do it just to spite him.

"Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have been indicted in the Southern District of New York. Nicolas Maduro has been charged with Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States. They will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts. On behalf of the entire U.S. DOJ, I would like to thank President Trump for having the courage to demand accountability on behalf of the American People, and a huge thank you to our brave military who conducted the incredible and highly successful mission to capture these two alleged international narco traffickers."

Kurt Schlichter put out his 2026 Predictions; this was #6:

“Maduro in Venezuela is toast – I expect he will choose jetting into exile over swinging from a Caracas lamppost and vamoose to one of his sponsors’ capitals. Maybe he’ll get a Moscow condo next to Assad. But there’s more. When Venezuela de-commifies, the next domino to fall is Cuba. It’s about time we freed Cuba from socialism, the only ideology so evil and incompetent that it can take a country full of Cubans and make it poor.”

He missed on the actual sequence of events, but still got the same results. With the ChiComs being on site for the “perp walk”, they might want to re-think their stance on many subjects. Trump isn’t bluffing when he says what he’s going to do.

Here’s the link for the rest of his column: https://townhall.com/columnist...ns-for-2026-n2668617

Here is the text from my friend:
“Good morning..I’m still in shock and happy. After 13 years of slavery and the country kidnapped. We are closer to freedom.. thanks to my president trump….All the Venezuelan people are crying of happiness!”

He will finally be able to go back and visit his mother who is still in Venezuela.

I wonder about Maduro’s wife. Apparently she was also taken captive, but it seems unlikely that she’ll be charged as a criminal.

Occupying Venezuela gives us an opportunity to stand up a strong Democracy that will counter Chinese influence in the region. A lot of the costs (military occupation, building infrastructure, etc) can be offset by seizing oil and gas assets. Hopefully we perform the same operation in Colimbia too.

Won't put the squeeze on Mexico that much.
Way too much coming from Columbia, Peru, Ecuador.

Per the DOJ (and multiple statements at the ongoing press conference in Palm Beach, FL), she has already been indited.
