One of the few occasions that I would have liked to have been recorded took place in a British Army workshops many years ago, when the correct method of dismantling a 40mm Bofors gun was being demonstrated to a group of gun-fitters under training. Somehow, one of the two giant-sized coil-spring clamps got itself 'unclamped', and the barrel assembly was projected at high velocity out of the carriage at about 45 degrees. It cleared the roof and carried on for around 250 feet, before coming to earth in the squadron parking lot. There were about fifty cars there on that occasion, and one car in particular looked different. It belonged to the Garrison Sergeant Major, visiting to finalise a unit recruit passing out parade. The barrel was sticking straight up out of the precise centre of the roof.

There were a lot of good clips there, 17:15 was pretty crazy, lucky his buddy/partner/whoever was there! ...Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, was just a freight train coming your way...
