Too many knives in my back to be unreasonably trusting.

That said I sold an $8000 item to an internet friend on agreement and shipped it out before receiving payment. He was golden and trustworthy. He called after I shipped it and asked for my mailing address since he didn't know where to send payment.

Being skeptical means you'll never win a Darwin Award.

I think trust is largely overrated personally.

There needs to be a reason for me to trust someone in what they do and say. I think there is a sort of provisional trust you can grant someone while still maintaining a "critical" and "skeptical" perspective.

The more you know about someone, personally and professionally, the more you can be trusting of what they say and do.

I really don't think there is any law in the universe that makes trust in the way most people define it a particular virtue.
