I started using a cross body quick access sling bag in the summer months when I'm wearing shorts and a t shirt. Now it's pretty much full time carry. I had the same issue with my gun butt poking into the leather on my seats and this solved that issue although that wasn't my purpose for getting it. It took some time to get used to carrying a sling bag and it does speak that there's a gun in there. But frankly most people are not very observant.

You can get these on Amazon for around $30. Also has room for cash, mags, and whatever else you want to carry. I have a long aversion to carrying things on my person. Can't stand keys in my pocket or loose change. Can't wear jewelry of any kind, wallet in the back pocket drives me crazy. Don't have any explanation for it just has always been that way. This bag is nice as everything goes in there and my gun is quickly and easily accessible and if you wear it cross body no one can pull it off you. Same as a rifle sling. I can keep it on in the car or lay it on the seat next to me and grab it as I go into my next stop.

I took crap from my buddies for awhile about my man purse but that only lasted a week or so.
