Of all the things I did in the Marines this was by far the coolest.

Most radio repair guys probably don't get to experience this but our CO worked hard in trying to get us out of the shop and was able to secure several spots for our unit to go do a
bunch of cool shit. This was one of the things I was lucky enough to participate in. We were the test dummies for the guys who were in school to learn how to do the rigging for this and of course they aren't going to use actual Recon Marines as I am sure they cost too much Wink. I only got to go up twice but I doubt you will ever get a better view of Camp Lejeune and the surrounding area than you will hanging from a rope under a helicopter.
