79 years of age. What will people ever do without the Jerry Springer Show? Big Grin. I could stand just hearing that show about 5 seconds and it either goes off or I'd leave the room. He probably is happy to RIP. Proof positive they will put the lowest of garbage on the airwaves.

He knew what the people wanted and he gave it to them and reaped the profits.

I never really liked or watched the show but I do admit the Trailer Park Ninja episodes absolutely kill me. "You never know when someone needs a good ningerin!"

Aaaaarrrgg! Memories!
I had a problem child in the 90s. I remember standing before a judge and him reaming me out as a bad parent saying things like "running the streets" and "watching Jerry Springer"

My son didn't run the streets and we DIDN'T HAVE a TV! NO TV or computer of any kind!
I did NOT know of Jerry Springer and I was not permitted to speak at this hearing. You can't imagine my frustration!

He knew it was trash TV.

I didn’t know he graduated from Tulane. Started his broadcast career there

Jerry Springer provided some solid entertainment for me and my friends while stationed at Camp LeJeune. One of the guys would tape the shows and every so often a bunch of us from my company would go to the common room for “Jerry and Beer” night and binge both.

Thanks for the memories Jerry.

My favorite Springer memory:

On the Jerry Springer show, many years ago, Jerry had some hill folk for guests. It seems that a man was bangin' his brother's wife, so the married brother did some really crappy stuff to his brother for revenge.

The two brothers sat in chairs on opposite sides of the stage. The brother with the unfaithful wife looked at his sibling and said "I wouldn't piss on you if'n you was on far!"

The other brother said "Well, I would wouldn't piss on you if'n you was on far!"

Then, they brought out the uncle of these two guys, representing the disappointment of the family clan in the behavior of the brothers and he said "Jerry, I wouldn't piss on neither one of 'em if'n they was on far!"

In one of the greatest ad libs in TV history, Jerry Springer shook his head and said "Isn't there any other way to put out a fire?"

But they was good people.

He knew what he was selling. Hate the game, not the player.

I loved that he had a cameo on Austin Powers when he had Dr Evil and Scott on the show.

My Uncle was an expert in tool & die set-up and he spent a lot of time in China in the 90s setting up factories. He ended up marrying his interpreter.

The whole family was dining together one holiday and my Uncle's wife shared she was learning about America by watching TV. She listed off several shows and to our horror it included the Jerry Springer Show. Trying to imagine her view of Americans is my greatest Jerry Springer memory.

I recently watched those movies with my teenage son and when they part came on I paused it to tell him about that was a real show. We ended up watching a bunch of YouTube clips of the show and laughing our asses off.

My friend was producing a special with Jerry. As a wedding present, he got Jerry to send us an autographed photo congratulating us on our wedding and saying “May you never be on my show”. It was really funny.

That was 24 years ago. I guess we made it.
