Fetterman is in an interesting character. He definitely does not follow the Democrat party line. He has supported Trump many times. But he is in favor of men competing against women.
I live in Pennsylvania, and I have followed him since he ran against Dr. Oz. Fetterman had recently had a severe stroke, and Oz, creep that he is, put out ads showing Fetterman struggling to knot his tie, struggling to walk, and speak.
The ads only skyrocketed sympathy for Fetterman and he won handily.
He stuck with a challenging program of therapy, and he now is articulate and fully functional.
His position on trans athletes is bizarre for an intelligent man, but it's not a position he's taking because he thinks it's politically helpful. He really believes it.
So, bottom line, I like him. If the Democrats had an ounce of sense, they would restructure their party around him. Lucky for us, they will continue to marginalize and mock him.

He's going to support the Dem Agenda 99.9% of the time, no matter how rational he sometimes sounds. So no thanks from me.

Been discussed here before I believe. He talks the talk but never walks the walk. He's a solid Dem vote every time. He is an interesting character to look at with his bald head, Sasquatch size in his Carrhart hoodie and shorts walking around the Capitol building.

Yeah, haven't bought into the better fetterman, any man that voted no on the bill to stop men from competing in womens sports isn't worth jack.

Any man who voted no on the bill to stop men from competing against women did not do so out of self interest. He knows that the polls are 80% – 20% against men competing against women.
Also, he has not voted democrat 99.9% of the time. That's not true at all.
I would never vote for him, but I think he is a good man. This message has been edited. Last edited by: justjoe,

^^^^^ I think that might happen, sigmonkey. The Democrats are foaming at the mouth about Trump's tariffs. Fetterman has said that he supports Trump's tariffs. Also, Schumer promised to shut the government down. Fetterman said he would not join in that effort and would vote to support the CR.

I remember a thread discussing him, but I think it was within another larger topic.
Like you, joe, I'm looking at the positives he exhibits. Yeah, he's not always on our side, but he's not a leftist...as in the new norm. Like Bill Maher.
Seems a lot of members only want to see the bad. I'd rather look at a glass half full.

Dr. Oz shouldn't have done that. If you have to go negative, you don't do it in your own name. You hide behind a PAC. Dr. Oz ran a poor campaign.

I'm glad he's doing well, the Democrats could learn a thing or two from this guy.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Thank you for providing the link. The search engine is not always thorough. That thread mainly focused on his heart condition. But I was glad to see that Para believes that Fetterman is sincere.
Para will shut this thread down if it is too duplicative.
To be clear, I am not saying he's always right. In fact, he is often wrong. But he is genuine, a rarity in DC,and I respect that.
What does that mean? If his family has money, he needs to dress in $5000 tailored suits like his colleagues? I know someone who worked for him, and they said he dresses how he wants to dress. That's him.

I agree. He's still a commie Democrat, and has voted something like 86% of time with Dems on a leftist agenda, but in 2025, he has voted YEA to confirm various Trump nominees. including Lee Zeldin, Sean Duffy, Eric Turner, Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem, etc. but voted NO for Kash Patel, Linda McMahon, Brooke Rollins, RFK Jr, Gabbard, Russell Voight, Peter Hegseth, etc. And he was one of the two Democrats who co-sponsored the Laken Riley Act.

I guess you did not read oddball's post.
The biggest stories of 2025 have been the border, tariffs, CR, and Laken Riley. It was not a big story this year, but he is strongly pro 2A. If we had a lot more doorknobs like him, a lot more of Trump's doors would be wide-open now.
