AlyronJust went through this training. Florida residency not required. If we stop someone without a permit it only takes a couple of minutes to check and make sure they are not convicted felons (or misdemeanors of domestic violence) or have an injunction, etc, against them.

Thank you for your post. This is good info. So your department is doing pro forma checks only? Do you have any insight or contacts in other departments or with FHP to get an idea as to if this will be the SOP?
If that is the case going forward, it is very good news. I will probably still keep my CWL to avoid the waiting period for purchases and for reciprocity during travel.
