Tell him the flag stands for the United States of America, not Trump. The USA was here long before Trump and will be around long after Trump. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and a flag is what it is, a flag. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I am fortunate to live in a fairly conservative community where perhaps 50% of the homes fly Old Glory every day. It is a beautiful sight walking down the street and see the flags gently waving in the breeze. I am also on the Architectural Review Board for our community and as such we are responsible for maintaining compliance with our rules particularly as it relates to new construction. One of the homes that we recently completed was for a disabled SF veteran who lost a leg. The home was built be Homes For Our Troops (https://www.hfotusa.org/) and had a 20 foot flagpole on it. I fielded a couple of call from “interested” neighbors (read that as busy bodies) who were concerned about the appearance of the pole being displayed so prominently in the front yard. I politely told them to pound sand. When we had the home dedication ceremony where the keys were handed over to the family there was a flag raising ceremony and at the raising of the flag the veteran struggled to get out of his wheelchair and stand at attention. There was not a dry eye in the place. God Bless America! ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

This photo was taken during fire season, aside from the smoke in the air, if you look just to the right of the flags, you'll see a red sun. I don't have a lighted flagpole, I like the ritual of raising the flags in the morning, and taking them down at sunset. The flagpole is telescoping and I bring it into the garage for winter. That infamous wind you've heard about can be brutal all winter long, and I can't see beating the flags to tatters. Today, the winds are sustained at 34 mph, gusting to 59. The day-before-yesterday was 10 mph higher, and that's right here. Elsewhere in the state, on Tuesday, 21 semis were blown over by "hurricane force winds" as high as 105 mph. Since I put up a pole and fly the flag every day with suitable weather I have noticed that I get far fewer (like not any) leftist door-knockers trying to sell their woke BS. So there is that benefit too, not to mention the satisfaction of proclaiming my love and appreciation of our country!

My flag is currently not be displayed. I’m out of state for the winter. I do not have anyone to care for the flag when it gets tangled or if the display light dies. Come spring it will be back out.

So many of my people gave so much (some everything) so this great country can be free. I fly our flag and anyone, I mean anyone, who doesn't like it can kiss my shiny white hinny! Couldn’t have said it better. I’ve told people in my life you got a problem with that flag then fuck you! You know how many dead bodies paid for that flag and the freedoms we have in this country? I mean just imagine the civil war alone. WWII, revolutionary war, long list to include first responders, and in recent memory for me, every first responder to 9/11. People have been dying for that flag in this country for hundreds of years. To us, common knowledge. These current folk don’t know how good they have it. Move anywhere else in the world and you won’t have the freedoms you have here. Makes me fucking sick. Any bitching about that flag, instantly makes me look at them like they are entitled POS that think they are more important than someone who has given their life for this country. Fuck em all. Bitching about your country? Move out of it then. Have your mouth write a real check and cash it. Get your passport, and your plane ticket, and GTFO. Gen Z is just programmed by social media applications and the bs narratives pushed there 24/7. Get off social media and get a damn job. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Our US Flag flies 24/7/365 with solar powered light on our home. Very few consistently fly the flag all the time in our subdivision.
