Same here, the few times I watched, he wasn't funny.. I had the impression that under his façade, there was nothing but a mean & spiteful person who enjoyed sneering at the "unwashed masses". Every time an “entertainer” shifts gears and gets all political, they lose a chunk of viewership which causes them to get bitter and nasty. They don’t seem to get that outside of a small echo chamber of like minded people, people tune in to them to be entertained and will seek that entertainment elsewhere. I remember the early days when Colbert was on the Daily Show and had some funny segments; when he started sliding left, I stopped paying attention to him in any way whatsoever as I suspect many others did likewise. I think Colbert is realizing that his entire team, the leftist, lying, America hating team is going down for the count. All his co-conspirators, same phony leftists personalities, are about to lose big time and there is nothing they can do about it.
