charlie12Rebuild transmission or ...
My buddy installs a lot of Jasper engines and transmissions. He's been using Jasper for years you can't beat their warranty. 3 year or 100,000 miles and it's transferable if you sell the vehicle. If it fails you can take it to any Jasper installer in the US. And Jasper pays the labor if it fails.

Ironmike57I just had my transmission rebuilt on my 2006 Honda Element for 1400.00 through a small shop. The going rate was 2300.00.
1 year warranty on parts and labor. It has been running great for the last 4 months.

Lot of expense for an 18 year old car but it may very well be worth it.
How many miles left on the car? That will determine if $2500-3000 is worth the investment.

ScreamingCockatooThat Honda automatic is stupid easy to rebuild.
Shifting hard is an electronic valve/solenoid.
It's the torque converter that needs the overdrive clutch replaced in it.(that only "clutch" in the car)
Swap it for a rebuilt one while it's apart.
