Probably planning to drive down into the Houston area and sell it for $10 a gallon....
I'm surprised they didn't shut the pumps off with that much fuel going on one feed and check out WTF was up, then again, might not have been the brightest bulb on shift...

You did good. I would have done the same.
My father was burned alive when his clutch grenaded at about 160MPH severed fuel lines, engulfing he and the car and the car rolled and flipped across the finish line and off the track.
He died a few hours later in the hospital.
My mother(preggers with me), and uncle were there.
They lived with that horror and I picked up on it.
JP-4 is 50/50 gas and kerosene, and I have been involved in 2 aircraft fires.
It burns very hot, and is hard to get under control and out if you don't act real fast.
I have been involved in several brush/grass fires and some other instances of fires.
"Fear" of being burned badly, or perishing has always nagged at me. Not a phobia thing, just a very healthy respect for the potential.
Transporting that amount of fuel in open and soft containers, there is great likelihood he would have had a spill and fire in transporting, or an accident would have been a very big and rapid fire.

zoom6zoomgood call. I got no problems if this fool wanted to kill himself, but he was putting other's lives and livelihoods at stake. You may well have saved his kid's lives if he has any.

comet24I would have stopped pumping my gas and gotten the heck out of there and then called the police/fire.
Gas is highly flammable. That much with open tops are asking for trouble. You did the right thing. If he had driven off I don't see a good outcome and likely some innocent person would get hurt.

ZSMICHAELI had a similar situation years back. Left immediately and called 911. I do not confront someone who is that stupid. They generally have poor impulse control.

People suck. Hopefully when they inevitably perish painfully in a hellish inferno, they don't take anyone else with them.
