I absolutely love Pho. I have tried several restaurants in Austin, but one called Pho Dan has the best broth of them all.

A lot of Vietnamese immigrants ended up in Houston. The climate is hot and humid, just like home. There is nearly as much Vietnamese food here as there are tacquerias.

Bring me some pho, yes please.

V Bistro - 59/1960: not bad
Pho Houston - 45/West Rd: better

Those are the 2 nearest to my office.

Van Thong in Conroe on 105 [w of 45] was a good one when I worked in Conroe & it was convenient

Not an unusual story, always heartened to see the South Vietnamese flag flying.

not a big fan of the restaurant. I find the food to be meh, hit and miss. The bakery on the other hand is insane. the Banh Mi, Bao (baked or steamed) and Pate chaud are deliciously incredible, restaurant and bakery are separated by a door. I much prefer Pho Bang's food, not even a 1/4 mile away

they also make THE!! BEST!! King Cake around New Orleans, which is a strong statement. they ship them during season, preorders go fast, highly suggest getting one. I'm fortunate, I can walk up. it's nice mid week on the way to work and I see a short line, I'll get them 2 at a time. I almost always have one in the freezer

I am very glad to learn how to say the word.

Why in the world would someone spell it incorrectly?

There are at least eight restaurants here with FU.

I will have to try it.

Yeah, Bún bò Huế is fantastic, but no way it can top phở in terms of national dish. Phở in Viet Nam is like hamburger/hot dog over here.

OK, SIG4EVA and I met up today!

I think we will be making a few of these meetups as there are so many wonderful places nearby.
