Predicted Cat 4 at landfall

I'm on the eastern edge of the warning/watch area. I do live on the water so surge I believe will be the biggest threat. I figure about 6-9ft. this will put water under the house, but not a crazy amount like iassac.

if anyone is interested, my weather station on Davis weatherlink is called Chef Pass. It'll be active until I loose power and or internet

Latest prediction I saw is possible Cat 4 + and landfall in Terrebonne Parish late Sunday afternoon. My kid is in NOLA, so if the track shifts just slightly N/E, it will be in his face. One news report said effected areas may be without power for up to 10 days.
Update: Just received a text from the kid. He says the track has shifted east and he is bugging out at 0600.
Update: Kid made it to Tallahassee. He will stay there until things subside.

We are in northern East Baton Rouge Parish. We don't flood but DON'T want the wind.

Better half works in 911 Dispatch so she might be locked in at work.

Be safe everybody.

We're ready to hunker down and ride it out. We have everything we could possibly need for a couple of weeks, and the bare essentials for a much longer period.

We’ve had a house in a hurricane prone area for over 30 years and our rule of thumb was to bug out if a Cat 3 or above was forecasted. In 2019 we lost part of our roof but it didn’t flood…

Please don’t stay in the path of a Cat 4 storm. If you need a place to shelter you can come up to our home in NC that is in Pinehurst. 540 five three seven 6655

Never really followed these things much. Now I have a son in Tallahassee I'm acutely aware of these things. I asked a local when we were down there about storms and when to bug out. He was very nonchalant in answering if the Waffle House is open you're fine. That didn't make me feel any better.

Waffle House is even used as a gauge of storm impact by disaster preparedness/response teams.

I saved this image from Hurricane Gustav in 2008. It shows how low the area really is:

It will be interesting to see if the cities flood, and if 100,000 people stayed behind like last time (Katrina).

Bush was killed by the media for inaction. I wonder if President Applesauce will be eviscerated as well.

Not sure Pres Goofygrape has, or ever had, any viscera. If there ever was any, his A-stan
debacle has cleaned it out.

I had no idea. Thanks. I guess he really wasn't being nonchalant.

So far so good here. Winds are picking up and rain is coming in waves. So long as we don't actual waves we'll be fine.
