A quiet evening tonight and a simple meal with Mrs. chbibc and our daughter. We enjoyed venison tenderloin, baked potato, salad and green beans. I enjoyed a nice locally brewed IPA and the ladies enjoyed a nice Pinot.

Then we watched Top Gun Maverick.

Merry Christmas and Peace to all!

Tamales!

Not home made, sadly, but the ones from Costco are extremely not bad.

Traditional at our house.

Turkey, Ham, Dressing, Green beans, Corn bread,

Hot rolls, Relish tray and pies for dessert!

Christmas Eve dinner was chicken and rice soup, got food poisoning Thursday and just getting back on my feet.

Hopefully I'll be back enough to go to my friends house for turkey and ham dinner on Christmas day.

A couple we have known for years had planned on their daughter and family coming for Christmas from Minnesota. Needless to say, the plane never left the frozen north. They had ordered a prime rib dinner from the country club to feed the bunch. They graciously invited us to a wonderful Christmas dinner earlier tonight.

Back to the daughter. They changed their tickets for New Years but today they all came down with Covid. Looks like we’re buying dinner for our friends on New Years.

We had a potluck at my EMS side hustle today. I made chicken enchiladas with green sauce and Hatch chiles. Kept the heat down for the uninitiated but brought my favorite habenero sauce to liven them up bit.

Tomorrow for Christmas we head over to my son's house. He is doing a brisket on his smoker and I know from past dinners it will be awesome.

What with my wife just getting home from four days in the hospital with the flu, last night was pizza that I picked up and bought home. Tonight, will be Chinese if I can find one open, if not, there is enough left over pizza to have again.

Driving over to my brother's place later. He's doing a brisket on his Traeger; his smoked stuff is always delicious. Just me, him, his daughter and her family. Oh, and his dog. My dogs are staying home, still recovering from a minor bout of kennel cough.

Last night was a new taco casserole my wife made and it was excellent. Tonight it will be Prime Rib with all the trimmings. Yum.
