I’ve already talked to appliance Brad about a new wash machine and refrigerator. Now my dishwasher has given up the ghost. My current dead GE has not been very reliable over its 5 years.
I had a ~$600 (Pre-RONA $) from IKEA. Made in USA, stainless in and out, dead quiet, cleaned well. I would put it on par with anything under $900. If $ is a factor, I would def buy again.
If $ is no object, I would drop ~$1,600 on a Miele
My Mom spend ~$1,500 on a Bosch, Its nice, but IDK if it is ~$500+ nicer than mid-line IKEA

Bosch, we got the 800 series with crystal dry and it actually dries Tupperware. You can also put plastic on the bottom rack as there is no exposed heat element. I was actually cheering for the dishwasher to die on our new house so I could replace it with a Bosch.

Another vote for Bosch here. Two houses each with a Bosch dishwasher. Both units for about 13 years each so far with zero problems. Of course, having written this, the Gods of appliance disaster will soon strike.
Thermador is owned by the same parent company as Bosch. Comparison on price/deals/features may be worthwhile.

I prefer the Kitchen Aid line of dishwashers. Replaced an old one in our last house with a Kitchen Aid, and in this house when we moved back in, bought the same Kitchen Aid I had in the last house.
Bosch makes a great dishwasher, but it doesn’t have a heated dry, so that’s a no sale for me. Otherwise I would be in the Bosch bandwagon as well.

Whatever you get pay extra to get a quiet model. Mine is KitchenAid and when on the loudest it gets sounds like a light rain, then quickly goes to a low hum. I have an open floor plan and the old one sounded like a freight train.
I don't remember if I was reading it here on the forum, or elsewhere. Had to do with dishwashers, their advertised features, and the reality that a wifi connection and phone app were required to use those features.
I don't need my appliance selling my information, nor do I need an appliance that can't operate simply by pressing a button on the appliance itself.
May want to make sure whatever you're shopping for isn't one of those that won't do what it advertises without having access to your phone.
Miele. We had 2 in the previous home (a luxury that we loved since we frequently have visitors). We are getting one for this house next week.
They work very well, and are so quiet we put a magnetic clean/dirty sign on them because even I was opening it while it was running. No brand has ever worked as well as the Miele.
I really like the feature where the door opens an inch for the final few minutes of the dry cycle. Idk if every Miele model does this.
In the previous home it was a 5000 model series. There is now a 7000 series which we are putting in this house.
