There is that difference in the burden of proof between a criminal and civil claim. The state has to prove you guilty beyond a reasonable doubt to convict you of a crime. That is a pretty high bar. It is, in essence, "I am damned sure he did it." A civil litigant can prevail, in most cases, by showing only that the defendant is more likely than not to have done the act. 50.1% gets you there. That bar is pretty low. Think, "Yeah, he probably did it, I guess." You know that, I think. But think about what it means. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

Does anyone think Grosskreutz learned anything from this experience? I seriously doubt he learned anything other than getting shot sucks. As for the suit by the estate of the real psycho, well fuck those lawyers, he got what he deserved too. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Or both cases are funded by anti gun groups who want to keep Rittenhouse in the news, in fear, and in turn, all gun owners in fear of the civil suits that can destroy them financially for using a gun. In FL we have stand your ground, and with it, you are immune from the civil attorney attacks, if not we'd be seeing John Morgan's For the Money group going after every gun owner for financial gain.

Hmmm, wonder if that “wrongful” is a typo, or just a really big stretch. From Rosenbaum’s record it would seem like one would benefit, not suffer from being deprived of his companionship. Dude brings to mind the old saying, “Everyone makes the world a better place. Some by their actions while they are here, and some by leaving it.” Wishing Mr. Rittenhouse quick success in disposing of these suits.
