Heard some advertisements for them will on a road trip recently. Anything to them?
Nationwide, no subscription, etc.

I have no doubt the product works, but their advertising is so scammy I can't take them seriously.

They work like the old nextel phones, it's a walkie talkie that works over the cell phone networks. If those networks are down (like in the natural disasters all their advertising points to), no rapid radio.

Also, they are huge on no monthly fee. Well, they don't have a monthly fee because they charge a yearly fee instead.

If you need a nationwide walkie talkie, it might work for you, but their advertising turns me off to the point I would never consider them.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

My understanding is that a subscription is required to use them after the first year. And that they actually use cell towers to communicate.

I’m suspicious of the truthfulness of their marketing.

I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole.

In addition to the sketchy signal system, I think they are trying to create confusion with the very reputable Rugged Radios that are popular in the off-road community.

GMRS or amateur radio. Many threads on handheld transceivers.
