Ever been in such a situation, where perhaps you are alone, but you feel unsafe as though someone is watching you or is planning an evil deed against you? I have had it, and sure hope I notice it again if in such a situation. Here is such an example, Army Pfc. Karlyn Ramirez was killed by her estranged husband within hours of telling her sister and mother of great discomfort. Sort of " I felt a great disturbance in the force". She did not know it, but her estranged husband had set up an alibi and was on the way to kill her. https://patch.com/maryland/ode...soldier-tells-family The new details about the hours before the murder ofKarlyn Serane Ramirez, 24, who was found shot to death in her Severn home Aug. 25, 2015, were shared in interviews that aired recently on "Crime Watch Daily." Ramirez died of multiple gunshot wounds; her then 5-month-old daughter, Kattaleya Vale Kearny, was found unharmed beside her. The night before she was killed, Ramirez called her mother, Susan, and sister, Roxanne. Both told the TV show Karlyn was uncharacteristically nervous. "She said 'I don't know what is wrong. I don't feel right. I don't feel safe. Do you think my baby knows I love her?'" said Roxanne in the interview. "I am like, 'Why are you talking like this? What happened?' 'I don't know. I can't tell you. I don't know.'" -------------- I suspect that those "vibes" are out there all the time, but being aware of them is the difficult part. So I am wondering if other SF members ever feel like there is something out there, something that warns us of danger even if the danger is not currently present? And, how can you tap into that without being paranoid? -c1steve

I'll tell you, but you likely won't believe me You have to stop trying. You have to be aware of everything without focusing on "trying" to feel anything is about to happen. It is the change in the flow that makes you aware that something is "off". It is like "knowing" when someone is looking, focusing on, at you. Or... Just use the Force Or... write it off to a glitch in the Matrix No, Daoism isn't a religion

I actually feel I am fairly sensitive to these feelings. However lately I have been feeling some extreme anger from someone I have not seen in over 15 years. He was a friend of friends, worked for me for a few years, then stole $20,000 of tools I lent him. I have not seen my (ex)friends, or this guy for 15 years at least. So not sure why, 24/7, I feel such a strong to need to watch my back. I will buy that book, there must be some valuable info inside. -c1steve

Sometimes, you may subconsciously process signals and small tidbits that give rise to fears which are legitimate warnings of potential trouble. Call that intuition, if you will. But some people mis-read signals and think there is trouble when there isn't any. I emphatically reject that there is any ESP or paranormal phenomenon at work. The fish is mute, expressionless. Years ago, one week I woke up three different nights with my chest pounding, sweating, and heart racing. Seconds later, the phone rang. I did not answer it, but ID showed it was a familial relative that was 200 miles away and had been trying to kill me. This is three times in a week. I am sure he had something planned, and a few days later I moved. However other times I completly missed any sign or feeling, and have had some close calls. For many months lately I find myself waking up at night, or in the morning, with severly clenched teeth plus cleanched hands and am in obvious stress. I am not sure what is causing it, but sometimes that person I have not seen in 15+ years is on my mind when I wake up. I definitely feel that something is amiss, but cannot pin it down. I am in code yellow or orange all day, trying not to be caught off guard. -c1steve

I think that we are capable of being able to sense trouble. I doubt esp or anything g telepathic. I think we do have more sensory capabilities than the big 5. Kinda like a spidey sense that we don’t quite know how to understand. An ability to see/feel/smell/ bear if something is different. Some may call it intuition ----------------------------------------------------------- TCB all the time...

I think of it the same way as describing driving old cars... just gotta learn the feel of ‘normal’ and when something doesn’t feel/sound/smell right, pay attention. It’s the same as situational awareness, aware of the way thing she should be and paying attention to differences. Spidey sense. I also do NOT believe in an sort of spooky ESP, super natural, ESP phenomenon. I never have and never will. That said, if you hear the voice in your head, whether little or loud, listen to it. It may save your life or the life of someone you know. But for the voice, I almost lost a son. God Bless and Protect the Once and Future President, Donald John Trump.

I too have a "little voice". Sometimes he has screamed "HOLY SHIT" at the top of his lungs. Trouble is, I don't always listen. And as a cop, I found that women had this intuition (if that's an accurate term) much more developed then men. Often, a female victim would tell me "I had a feeling something was wrong" before a traumatic event. And they had the same problem as me. They did not listen or act on it. If your little voice tells you something, listen and take action. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Man Once Child Twice |
I’ve had this feeling twice that sticks out. When a situation screams something’s not right. First one was when me and the little blond gf stopped at a gas station in a bad part of Cincinnati. I was such a hick from the rural areas of NE Ohio I didn’t think twice. We stopped to get gas at a station and I had to take a leak. As I got to the gas station bathroom I noticed a couple brothers leaning against a broke down car. I then had a bad feeling. I went in and tried to take a leak,I couldn’t, so I immediately went to leave and as I opened the door, one of the guys was just entering with a towel over his arm like he was hiding a gun. We both surprised each other at the same time. I said excuse me, and booked. I knew I wasn’t in Kansas anymore. 2nd time I took a girl to a concert in Indy, we fucked around getting back to our car in the parking lot. As we were almost there I noticed there were 2 cars left, ours and there’s. They started walking our way, we made it first. We beat feet. I had a bad feeling about that and was scared shitless. She didn’t notice. That’s how dumb we were. I’ve learned to listen to myself.

Makes me think of a time at the first PF I went to in Modesto when it all came together. The phrase "no mind" comes to mind. Bruce has a phrase about being an interested observer that probably applies too.
This one is really magic. I learned about that several years ago. If you can't figure a problem out, think through all the pros and cons, everything that you know about it, then just turn it over to your subconscious and let it work on it. It always seems to have the answer by morning...

If a patient told me this story, I would be quite concerned that the patient had a serious problem. I'm an internist/cardiologist so it's not in my specialty, but this doesn't sound like "sixth sense" to me. I think it should not be taken lightly. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Told cops where to go for over 29 years… |
ESP, spidey-sense, 6th sense, premonition, divine intervention - I don’t know what it is, but I absolutely believe it exists. Most affirming example of it for me was when I processed out of the Marines and did my household move back to Washington state. The plan was for me and all of our belongings to head north in a 25’ U-haul towing my pickup behind it on a tow dolly. My 5 year old step-daughter was coming with me while my wife and infant son remained in CA with family friends to allow me time to look for a job and apartment while we still had her income. Family friends took care of my son while she worked and my step-daughter was going to be delivered to her dad for his summer visitation. We ended up heading out of Tustin later than planned, about 9pm. Got through LA and over the Grapevine and I was starting to get VERY drowsy. Step-daughter was sound asleep and I made the decision to pull over on the (very wide) shoulder to take a nap. There was a rest area a number of miles ahead, but I honestly didn’t think I could make it. I stopped on a straight and level stretch of I-5 about halfway between Bakersfield and Kettleman City. There was hard pack dirt shoulder almost two lanes wide alongside a field. I get pulled over, shut the truck down and decided not have the flashers going. The reason for the late start was a dead battery that had to be serviced by the rental company. I didn’t want to risk leaving them on and then not be able to get it started back up in the middle of nowhere. I left enough room on the passenger side of truck so I could go around drain my bladder and get into a small cooler on passenger floor board before taking my nap. I got back in the truck and wadded up my jacket for a pillow to settle in for an expected 90 min or so “power nap” setting an alarm on my watch. I fell asleep instantly even with the passing traffic consisting mostly of semis at that time of the night (somewhere around 1 am). To this day I don’t know what caused me to be instantly awake, but I woke up with a shot of adrenaline, it had only been about 30 minutes and I woke from a dead sleep in a somewhat confused state. Took about a second to clear my head, check the time and I was then totally alert and “felt” something was “wrong”. I looked at my step-daughter, still sound asleep. Then I checked the side mirrors on the truck. In the passenger side mirror I saw a silhouette with a small flashlight shining it inside my pickup on the tow dolly. Driver side mirror showed a figure at the back of the rental truck approaching the cab, also with a flashlight. He wasn’t shining it forward, but holding it down towards the ground alongside his leg between him and the truck, not on the approaching traffic side where it would make him more visible to passing vehicles. My inner voice was screaming at me to get the fuck out of dodge. I fired up the truck and as soon as I did, they started waving and trying to get my attention and ran towards the cab. I got it in gear and as I pulled out on to I-5 I saw their vehicle was pulled farther off the road than I had been and was totally dark, no headlights, no flashers. While they may have simply been good samaritans checking on me, I really don’t think that was the case. If I were to stop and assist someone I thought might be broke down, I would leave my lights on, turn on the hazards, and angle my car like a cop does on a traffic stop. These guys were as far off the road as they could get and were blacked out. If I was going to check on the person and they started the car and left, I would just go back to my vehicle, not try to get them to stop. WIDE awake now, I drove the 40 miles or so to the rest area where I got out of the truck to check and see if they had broke into my pickup, stretch my legs, and wrap my head around what happened. There was actually a few minutes where I had the “shakes” from the adrenaline rush. After about 15 minutes I had calmed down and was ready to get back on the road. I woke up my step-daughter, had her go to the bathroom and headed back out. After that I was good until after the sun came up and we didn’t stop again until Sacramento. Being CA, concealed carry was totally illegal, as were loaded guns in vehicles. I did have an AMT Backup in .380 loaded and ready to go that I kept in the cab (and it was in my hand all the while I was in that rest stop). Thankfully I didn’t get in a position where I needed to use it. Planning for the trip, I was willing to break the law, but I didn’t want to risk a more expensive gun should something happen and wanted something as compact as possible to keep out of sight. It was more of a “comfort blanket” to me and for my wife to feel better since we were traveling through the night. I really didn’t think there would be a need for it. Looking back, a 5 or 6 shot .380 is not what I would want to rely on in the middle of the night on a dark and deserted stretch of highway if I had to face off against multiple attackers. The rest of my guns were in the pick up and when I stopped in Sacramento the Mossberg 12 gauge got moved to the cab of the U-Haul. It stayed in the soft case and unloaded, but I had a box of shells in reach. The AMT was replaced with my P226, also unloaded in a zipper case, but I kept two loaded magazines in my pockets for the rest of the trip. That was May 1990, a little over 28 years ago now. I still remember it like it was yesterday. One of the few times as an adult, I can honestly say I was not only scared but chilled to the core. I have thought about this several times over the years and every time I come up blank on a “rational” explanation as to why I woke up at that precise moment. That leaves me believing that there is in fact a “force” of some sort out there that we are only subconsciously in tune with. What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???
