I've had two incidents lately involving road hazards. Both incidents disabled the car we were driving. The last one was the worst, something fell off a semi and knocked out the oil pan and did other damage. That's it. I told my wife I absolutely will not get on the interstate in a compact car again. Far too poor maintenance and far too much traffic. I went shopping for a truck. Prices were insane, way over MSRP. I spoke to a friend who had a friend who managed a Toyota dealership. I picked up a 22 Tacoma 4WD 4DR for actual MSRP and got KBB for my Corolla, and 2.49 financing from the credit union. Tha's the good news. The bad news, I won't get it until the end of May. Such is life. It just means another month before I can go see the new grandson.

We have an AWD mid-size, very capable and comfortable. A 2016 fusion AWD titanium with a fun turbo and paddle shifters. We end up driving my F250 pretty much everywhere. We bought them 30 days apart, and the pickup has a little over twice the miles on it. It's mostly due to the safety of driving a pickup. I get it. We keep considering selling the fusion and buying a smaller SUV. I just got done with not being able to drive it (because of break-up and our road) for two months straight. I think I'll buy a new Bronco. I'm honestly just waiting for them to get it figured out a bit better. I hear lots of horror stories from new Bronco owners. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The trouble with our Liberal friends...is not that they're ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so." Congrats on your new ride! At least you didn't get the new Tundra. It may be a good truck, but damn is it ugly (does the grille need to be bigger?). Send us some pics of your new Taco when you get it.

Can’t beat a Tacoma. Most bullet proof small truck you can buy. Congrats! ——————————————— The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Psalm 14:1

I had a 2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad Premium in the Inferno color. I liked the truck but I could not tolerate the way Toyota setup the automatic transmission. Constant lugging the engine and reluctant to downshift. Even when it did downshift it would immediately shift back up and continue lugging. Lots of vehicles behave that way but some engines seem to handle it better than others. I have read that Toyota has improved the newer models so it would be nice to hear if that is true because I really liked the truck otherwise. “That’s what.” - She

Technically, when you buy a new truck, you sit in the truck, turn the key, and drive where ever your little heart desires. You don't have a new truck. You have a commitment from a lying car dealer. Know the difference!!! I hope it works out for you better than it has for me. ---------------------------------------------------- Dances with Crabgrass

They're pre-selling and that worked out for me. We bought a 4Runner late last year, was given an about date and it was delivered a little early. I think you'll get your truck and nice that it's MSRP. My wife like it from the safety standpoint.

Buying a vehicle at MSRP before it’s even on the lot is a terrific deal for the dealer. They have no expenses and lots of profit. For you, not so much. I’m not a huge Toyota truck fan but if I was I’d get on a Toyota Truck forum and ask around for a high volume dealer. Then place an order for what I wanted at a sub MSRP price. Just my two cents…. 0:01

I'm on my third Tacoma and I'm a big fan. The 3rd generation does have some issues and things people complain about like seat comfort, road noise, transmission shift points and not best in class MPG. (an ECU tune fixes the shift points and can up MPG if it bugs you) Still I find it fun to drive and quite good looking. I get "nice truck" from strangers on a regular basis. Do your maintenance and getting 300,000+ miles can be expected. Just last week I got a report from CarFax listing the value at $5,000 more then I paid in Dec. 2018. It's a 2019 Offroad 4x4. Truck pricing is crazy. Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves. -D.H. Same sentiment as above. 2019 TRD Off Road Double Cab. Cruise control only works well on perfectly flat roads...going through hills will kill MPG. Also similar value retention in this current market. Have fun!!! --------------------------------------- It's like my brain's a tree and you're those little cookie elves.

I think you're just hearing from the vocal few and that most don't have problems. I've got a 2021 Bronco Sport that I bought 14 months ago. No problems whatsoever. Also, on a Bronco Sport forum I go to once in a while, they did a thread on whether or not you have problems and most people didn't. And a lot of the ones that did have problems had problems like "the fender doesn't fit perfectly" and "the hood vibrates at speeds over 80MPH and "the seats aren't comfy" and so on.

Congrats on the new truck! Can’t wait to see it when it arrives. You are going to want a set of these absolute game changer in driver seat position! https://desertdoesit.com/colle...-lifts-front-of-seat
Not going to happen not a single Toyota dealer is selling to anyone under sticker right now nor will they be any time soon. On Tacomas or Tundras. The other Toyota dealer in his town is tacking on $10-$15k over sticker. Dealers around here might have 10 new vehicles on the lot and the used ones are barely cheaper than new. Same goes for most other makes too. I also don’t see the whole negotiating on vehicle prices really coming back. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

Buying any Ferd product in its first year or two of production is risky. There may have been a time when they produced good cars and trucks. That time is long past. Its your money, waste it as you please. Unhappy ammo seeker
