“A blue heeler dog from Queensland is being hailed as a hero after he helped police find a missing girl. Aurora went missing around 3pm on April 20 along with the 17-year-old family dog, Max, who is deaf and partially blind. The three-year-old disappeared from Cherry Gully, 30km south of Warwick… Mr Benston told the broadcaster: 'She found the dog first. Max led her to Aurora.' 'He stayed with his three-year-old human last night whilst she was lost near Warwick. 'For keeping her safe until she was found, you're now an honorary police dog!' www.dailymail.co.uk/news/artic...ssing-overnight.html Serious about crackers

Gunner, our blue heeler, approves! I could totally see him doing something like this. He is the most loyal, protective dog I've ever been around. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

17 year old, deaf and partially blind. I'd give that dog a steak, better yet, a whole side of pork ribs. Doled out over a period of time, of course. Don't want to stuff him to death. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

17 and deaf and partially blind. That’s a good run and he caps it with saving his human. My mutt terrier is 16 this month was born deaf and has cataracts now. He walked straight into a glass slider door the other day. But he cuddles up next to me every night in bed so there’s that.
