Yeah, this one is probably a shit-show on both sides. If that’s what he was doing when they arrived and they didn’t know enough about what they were looking at, it sure would look like a threat. I guess, cocked pistols firing through holsters isn’t unheard of. Just a shit-show.

Still would like to see the bodycam footage. What a neighbor films and what the police were presented with can be two very different things. If that footage is in the link provided, it’s not showing up on my phone. If that is what the officers saw when they arrived and he refused to drop, I could easily be see lighting his ass up. Especially with how eloquently his meth’ed up buddy described him.

Ok, this happened about 40 miles up the road from me. I drive by this RV park about every month or so.

A few facts:
-Seaside PD lost a cop to a homeless man in a shooting a couple of years ago. Since then, this small department has been very much on edge. Right or wrong, they are on edge. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the Sheriff's department takes over LE in this town at some point.

-being a small department, their budget is small and the cops don't get all the training that the Sheriff's Deputies get. You would be amazed at how little money a cop in Seaside gets. Not that much more than the guy making coffee at Starbucks. It's very sad.

-Aside from the 2 or 3 blocks where the tourists go, Seaside is a trash town, with a high percentage of the people being dangerous homeless types, or just plain drug losers. There is no money in this town other than what little the tourists spend. The money is up the road in Cannon Beach.
