Not really a major gift but my wife loves her rechargeable hand warmer. You can re-charge it while driving and then she can keep her hands warm when you arrive at a chilly location. Waiting for a ferry or on a ski lift, for example.

A more expensive gift most women love is a gift-cert to a spa or for a "mani-pedi"

If she enjoys things like this…a gift certificate for a spa day, manicure, pedicure, etc.

If she’s really into Christmas, a cool nativity scene or a special handmade ornament could be nice.

If she wears tennis shoes, maybe sneak and get the brand, model number and size, then order a new pair of those. My wife hates spending money on tennis shoes, and will wear them flat out.

Unless you do this in your home already, you could give her a homemade gift certificate that you will cook for a month, or do the dishes, maybe laundry, etc…whatever chores she normally would do, give her a break from those. “Acts of Service” for my wife go a longgggg way, much more than material things.

My wife has always stopped at the jewelry cabinet at Costco to look at rings. She frequently mentions Tanzanite. She's not a jewelry nut and I haven't bought a nice ring for her since about 2003. While I bought a Tanzanite colored BMW for her last month - this didn't stop the looking at Costco. Yesterday, while walking through the mall, we looked at a jewelry store and found the ring on sale for a reasonable price.

Whew - Christmas 2023 is complete.

You cautioned about suggesting anything too expensive, but I’ll suggest diamond stud earrings. You can size them according to your budget, and the neat thing about a gift like that is that down the road, you can go back to the jewelry store and trade them in for full value on a larger pair of diamonds if you and your wife so desire.

Not married, divorced. Perhaps i began to not catch the hints. It's a 2-way street. Maybe something like a monthly wine subscription or something along those lines. Good luck, it can be tough when we reach an age when we have everything we need and no longer want for anything.

Edit: okay, after watching the dog house video, wine is about as romantic as a beer making kit. A safe fallback would be, and always will be....GOLD or Silver.. time's running out though.

As a "soon to be married," rather than married couple - I got her a very frilly and decorated apron, off Etsy.

It's very "her", and the whole "homemaking" thing seems appropriate - she seems really excited to be a housewife, etc.


(Bit worried about a career woman, who admits she has no idea how to cook, deciding that she wants to spend her days doing homestead level cooking...)

Do you have any pet or family cremains around? Turn them into a diamond. There are several companies out there doing that now. Spendy but thoughtful and cherished forever.

I rely heavily on my step-daughter… her and the Mrs were out shopping and she texted me a bunch of pictures from the Carhartt store that her mom said she really liked along with some other things. All are practical things that Will be used daily which has been our goal for many Christmas’s ..

No. I just asked my wife, she’s shaking her head, went like this -> , and is asking me where I came up with this idea.

I got her a "Couples Massage" for our Anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience.
