I was raised in a college hockey loving family. This tragedy was always in the back of my mind when anyone got boarded, and I worry now about my son as his love for game grows and he starts playing at the contact level.

RIP, Travis Roy. Your courage and bravery were a tribute to you and the sport you loved.

RIP Travis.

Some of scariest moments as a parent was watching my son play hockey.

He played mites to Jrs.

He loved the sport but it scared the hell out of me more than once.

Do---or do not.
There is no try.

I remember when it happened and I've followed his story off and on all these years. I don't know if I'd have had the courage and determination he displayed.
