The devil is always in the details... I don't think the supporters of The Jefferson movement have any desire to be part of the San Francisco bay area: Splitting California in 3 would be different. That’s the only sure thing https://www.sfchronicle.com/po...fferent-12833111.php "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Yeah, but that is where the devil pops his nasty little head up. If you make NorCal the state in the map above, the Bay Area will wind up running it into the ground in much the same way that Chicago is running Illinois into the ground or that Las Vegas is running Nevada into the ground. Leave all the big coastal cities (or at least SF and LA, minus the San Fernando Valley) together.

The Seattle/Tacoma corridor for sure is liberal and progressive. The rest of the state is pretty conservative especially east of the Cascades. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

Very true, after they relocate the immediately set about turning their new town to the previous shithole. I kid you not, i have had discussions with cali parents in portland 1990s and seattle 2000s about before school care and after school care not being free or properly subsidized for the right people.

Yep. It wouldn't be enough to split it that way. Both LA and SF need to be in the same entity, or their influence will still be felt where it shouldn't be. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth
