just a question. Why were you 4' away from the fight?. Were you trying to break it up? That seems bit close for a couple of adult men throwing heymakers?

I was on the patio by where it met the sidewalk, I wasn't trying to break it up at all, just trying to be a barrier between them and the girls on the patio. They weren't throwing fists, just shoving and in each other's faces. I wasn't carrying, still waiting on my NC appointment for the permit.

White guy got dragged out of the bar by his wife, black dude had a fanny pack on the whole time, so I am assuming he had the gun the whole time. Black dude was leaving and white guy was still jack-jawing. Couldn't hear what he said, but something that made the black guy come back out front and get into it again. That's when the piece came out and the shooting started.

Welcome to North Carolina! Glad you are OK.

If it had been the black guy who got shot by the white guy, you would have been on the news! Wink

I haven't yet made it a practice to pull a gat everytime someone walks past me with determination in their eye and air in their hands. Maybe I should start.

My first thought was that it was a USP. Had that shape and I could see a massive slide release lever.

Glad you and you wife are OK Reverand.

I would make sure you did not suffer any permanent hearing damage. Pulling that gun was stupid on his part.

Glad you are ok. Staying home is getting to be a better option even after the lockdown. Time of day used to matter but not so much anymore.

Which is why I've made it a habit to go nowhere unarmed unless I've no choice--in which case I consider carefully just how badly I want or need to to the thing that obliges me to be unarmed.

Same. Hospitals, and on the 23rd, court rooms. Everywhere else, I have a gun on me.

Can't carry in a hospital? How silly is that?

Anyway, as long as there are no metal detectors or security check, I'd carry anyway. Screw 'em.
