What a freeking perfect Father's Day. Sat on the deck and and had coffee with my girlfriend until around 10am and then she went in and made me breakfast. In the afternoon I put away a generous amount of Heineken and smoked a fantastic cigar, then took a short nap. The boys are with their mom this week but they came over today around 4pm. They gave me great gifts that they actually paid for, we grilled obscenely large cowboy ribeyes (I reversed seared them) and then we watched Raider's of the Lost Ark, which they absolutely loved, and asked if we can watch the sequels when they stay with me next. Whatever tomorrow brings, tomorrow brings. Today was perfect. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

My father was in a care center, going downhill, passed away a month ago. He moved in with my mom, who passed away four years ago. It was a blessing, I do miss him, I know I will see him again (hopefully not too soon). "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women. My mom and dad came over for a BBQ. We killed a bottle of Blanton’s that we had started a few weeks ago when he was over. I gave him a box of 38 hollow points that he wanted. Said he wanted to swap HD guns from the sig 220 and go to his revolver.

It's a sad day for me, too. My last Fathers' Day with my dad was in 1984--he died in September of that year after 11 years of declining health following serious strokes. I never married, so have no children to celebrate with. My mom died in 2002, and my only sibling, my sister Debra, in 2000. I do have 2 nephews in Phoenix, Arizona, but we don't communicate much. My parents' graves are in Arkansas and my sister's in Arizona, so I don't get to them very often, either. Those of you with alive parents, enjoy them while you can, and often. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth
