Good lord this is a long one. Hitting the 7 hour mark. And pinch hitting with a pitcher haha. Just gotta make it to 8 hours and 7 minutes for longest major game ever.

I was just chuckling about that myself. When you need to use a Starting (Closing??) Pitcher as a Pinch Hitter in the 17th inning you know things are getting interesting.
I'm curious as to how tonight's game will impact Game 4 and possibly beyond.

Definitely, especially since they have a game tomorrow. Eovaldi had basically almost pitched a complete game in "game 2." Pretty funny people have gone to bed, and wake up to the game still on.

How desperate a strategy is it to send Clayton Kershaw up to pinch hit?
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Well they had no more position players to pinch hit for the pitcher. Might as well use Kershaw as he is a pretty good hitting pitcher and as a starter gets at bats throughout the season, where the relievers hardly ever do. He actually had a pretty good at bat.
I was wondering how much longer the game would have to go before we saw a position player having to pitch. Not sure if that has ever happened in a WS game.

Ian Kinsler cost the Sox last nights game. He was a one man cluster[you know what], and if I was Alex Corra he'd be sitting the bench tonight.
As to the game itself, the longest World Series game in history, I thought it might never end. Although I'm rooting for the Sox, I hated to see Walker Buehler lose the win given the lights out night he had. He's going to be something special across the coming years.

Going to be very interesting to see how Cora manages his bullpen tonight. He really hasn't made any mistakes as a manager so far, especially how he has managed what I consider to be an inferior pen, but his choices tonight have the potential to have serious ramifications.
I decided to root for Boston because I’ve really ben put off by Machado’s antics (and his “home run” saunter for a ball that bounced off the wall didn’t improve my impression of him).
But, when it got to be 2am my time, I didn’t care who won. I just wanted the game to be over.

Anybody else stay up for the whole thing? My wife thinks I am nuts for doing so.
