I admit that I am ignorant in a lot of fields, BUT why can't the USA explode an EMP over Iran and put them back into the dark ages? Is it too hard to control the total area that might be affected? Or would it not be as devastating as I am lead to believe? Educate me!

I think the biggest problem with that tactic is that exploding a nuclear device over another country will probably touch off WWIII. Nothing good will result; and probably a whole lot of bad...

There is no such thing as exploding an EMP by itself. An EMP is the by product of a nuclear weapon being detonated high enough in the atmosphere. There is still radiation that could spread goodness knows where depending upon prevailing winds. And the political ramifications of the US doing a nuclear first strike would be unbelievable. Not going to happen.

I've heard rumors that if you drive two Tesla's at a classified speed, and smash them head on, while one is playing the Raising Arizona Soundtrack "Way Out There" and the other is playing "Barbie Girl" by Auqua at full volume, the EMP will be of sufficient magnitude, to lay waste to a country without need for fission.

And you have to name the cars "Thelma" and "Louise".

Hardest part IMO is figuring out which Tesla has to be on the left and which one on the right, as you watch them hit each other.

Audio sync is another problem.

The effort is worth it, this I know. Big Grin

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
