I have a like-new Sony SRS-XB23 that I have no use for. Bought it in August. Used it once. Great sound, I just don’t need it. Don’t know if you’re Christmas shopping or what, but if you don’t need packaging, etc., it’s yours. Have a jbl and a ue, I would go jbl. Ultimate ears is a pain to pair and can magically drop and not reacquire. I got a Bose Soundlink Color (at least that seems to be the equivalent model now) free with a phone purchase several years ago. I use it for exactly what your wife is looking for. Great sound and really fills up our open concept space with very high ceilings, especially for such a small package.
