Get it up to 500-600F and keep it there for 20-30 minutes to cook off any production coatings, assembly or protectant stuff on it or crap on the metals, then bring it down to whatever temperature you grill with and cook on it. | |||

This, but I like using a spray oil to coat the grates before I cook...
