At least Rumble is an option.

I hadn't heard that part about sponsored videos before.

A week or so ago, I saw a Demolition Ranch video where he explained Google's/YouTube's fully automatic new rule. There was some exceptions for news and movie scripts so he kept firing a full auto gun and showing the movie script. The penalty for fully auto was being moved to 18 and over which would take away 40% of their views since that many people watch the channel without being logged in (i.e. how 18 and over is verified).

They don't like their sponsor. Could he go free-lance?

So what makes a sponsorship a sponsorship? When they say thank you to Such and Such for sponsoring this video? If they didn't mention the sponsor and just did some over the top product placement would that be ok?

YT is where the money is. Rumble is a fine platform but it does not get near the traffic YT does and traffic is where the money comes from. Fuckin Google screws up everything.

Have you looked at the prices for ammunition or cameras lately. It is not at all cheap. In addition you have to consider the amount of work that goes into each video, editing the raw footage alone is probably 20 hours or more for each video.

Sponsors are what pays the bills.

BTW, if anyone has an Email address for Google Complaints then post it up here so we can all gang up on google. Same goes for anyone who has an actual telephone number at Google.

I've stopped counting.

To add another reason. Sponsorship is how they counteract demonitizing. A video will get put up for policy review via d-bag hitting button, YouTube moderator, and/or YouTube algorithm. While a video is being reviewed it doesn't get monetized. They get the majority of their views in the first few days so they lose most of their money when a video gets reviewed.

Counteracting demonitizing is why we see so many unrelated sponsors (e.g. gun channel having a privacy sponsor).

This.

I can't recall the channel, but the host made the same point. The curve on views, and consequently monetizing, spikes in the first several hours of a video being posted, then trails off quickly.

When some whiny liberal flags an "offensive" (i.e., conservative) video, it gets demonitized while under review. Invariably, the video does not violate YT's terms of service and it stays up. By then, however, the views and the money are gone, and without a sponsor the channel withers. And that's the whole point. Like Mark Steyn says "The process is the punishment".

Sadly, it is ok if you are a young girl/woman to dress provocatively and do all kinds of things on Youtube and yet no one is offended or saying that shouldn't be. We are devolving.

Me too!
But then I Bing'ed it and saw that it's already taken by a site you probably don't want to visit...unless you're naked in a beanbag eating a large container of cheese puffs.
I guess it should have been obvious. Razz

That sucks. I’ve been watching him for years and enjoy his videos. Sponsorship is probably the only way he could have the ammo to shoot during the times when it was next to impossible to get ammo.

I have news for you. There's free porn all over the interwebz.

But I also understand that some guys go to Hooters, b/c they're scared of or feel guilty going to a strip club.
