That's kind of hard on the wife, isn't it?

I seen what ya did here... Big Grin

Wife's happy because he's the one who got sprayed for bugs.

Last appointment like that I had was for 6 recalls on my vehicle. There was a one hour window in the morning and a 20-something kid showed up with a laptop right on time. Sat in my rig for about 1/2 an hour, said he done the necessary re-programming, had me sign he'd been there and left.

Decades ago, when BellSouth provided the landline service in this area, I had an appointment for an install. It was a no-show. I sent them an invoice for four hours of my time at $175 / hour.

They did not pay the invoice, but they did give me a month of free service.

and that is after an hour going in circles on the online chat, because it does not know what you are asking, and then at least 90 minutes with ''roger'' or ''bob'' who have such thick accents it is hard to understand them,

just ditched them,, and it took 30 minutes on the phone to get the guy to understand Close my account, as in cancel my account,

FIOS, fwiw, went to the local store, took maybe 30 minutes to sign up in person,
tech was scheduled on a Sunday AM,
got a note saying on the way, be there in 30, ,which was 30 minutes past the window open time (as in 8-12 , and he was here at 830)
super nice dude, he probably could have been faster, but the time was because we were chit chatting not him being slow,

Um...I took off work to wait for your ass to show up and you never did. Don't lie to me, asshole

That's the US Postal Service.

A few years back I stayed home from work because something required a signature. At the time, I was in a house with a staircase that went up to the front door. The guy left a door tag on my mailbox on the street that said undelivered because no one was home (it was blatantly obvious I was home). I chased him down the street and he literally took off.

I drove straight to the post office and complained (politely) to the post master. The guy showed up and the postmaster asked him what happened and he finally relented that didn't want to walk up the stairs. I got my package, but it always made me wonder what else that carrier did.

The old joke about the cable guy who said his watch had stopped and wanted to know what time it is.

Answer: "Between 8 and 12 on Tuesday."

Our worthless rural carrier's latest trick when he is sick of all the Amazon packages and wants to go home is to scan all his remaining packages "Customer requested package be held at post office for pick up". I called and complained and the post master himself came out after 5:00 and delivered a bunch of those packages to the affected parties.
