You can only do that to the non-union employees.

And non-union employees are just now being offered early retirement. Because they're doing such a good job, they should be rewarded. Right???

FedEx Ground is, from all I've seen reported. FedEx Ground ≠ FedEx. FedEx Ground is a subsidiary of FedEx, formerly known as Roadway Package System.

Dunno why you think Ground is affected by Covid. It's been business as usual around here. In fact, over Christmas, the number of packages coming through the terminal was nearly double that of the previous year due to everyone ordering online rather than shopping local. Ground got slammed and still got everything out every day.

What's the problem? They're not moving any mail.

Just got an update that it made it to St. Louis so it’s on the move again. I’m hopeful that the next stop or two are BRIEF :/

Maybe at your terminal. There's one here in Detroit that got so bad it made the "news" on multiple days. People with packages that had disappeared into that terminal for a month or more.

FedEx Ground may be better than USPS, but that's a pretty low bar, lately.

My January 1 mortgage payment just made it to the mortgage company last week, it mailed out before Christmas. I canceled the check in late January, mortgage company tried to cash it, of course a no go. Now I just had my second water bill in last 3 months not get there and charged a late fee.

We have no recourse, no one to complain to, just at the mercy of those clueless jack asses.
I’m wondering if enough people send letters to our congressman if it will do anything?

I would spend my time figuring out how to pay my water bill and mortgage electronically. You can generally cancell the payment if needed. The USPS is broken beyond repair. I do not even bother complaining any more.

Unfortunately neither excepts electronic payment which in the year 2021 is nuts. All my bills are paid through my credit unions bill pay service.

Yes, no one is listening. Try making a claim on mail theft.

I sold a couple of items on GB and payment was by USPS money order and sent via first class mail. It took 2 full weeks to get the payment from Alabama and will be 2 full weeks tomorrow for payment from another sale to Alabama.
Meanwhile Ebay and Amazon routinely get items to me via USPS in 3-5 days from the order.

I've been using the US mail service for fifty years. I've never seen it like this before. The entire organization should be ashamed of itself. I mean that. They should be ashamed at such ineptitude and disregard for their duties. Oh, but of course you have the world's greatest excuse: "COVID" Roll Eyes Assholes

If it were possible, I'd love to see the USPS dismantled. Fire every last fucking executive or manager and re-screen all other employees. "Here's a job application. You have competition, so be on your toes. Guaranteed? Your job is about as guaranteed as is speedy delivery of the US mail. You can be replaced."

And there should be a law- twenty years in a Federal lockup for mail theft. Even one piece of mail- anything- a postard, even- the weekly sales flyer from your local grocery store. Anything. Twenty years, no parole. That'll put the brakes on this petty pilfering. I can't stand thievin' trash.

F-me-running. I’ve been waiting for something very important that regrettably was send USPS instead of FedEx or UPS. Tracking has said all week it will be here today…currently update shows it is 6 hours away in another post office “Moving through the system”.

Great. They must have meant next Saturday. I wasted a whole day waiting for something that there is zero chance I see now.

Of course package was not delivered yesterday. Of course USPS does not respond to Twitter prompts.

My favorite so far from yesterday’s adventures…

At 8am it was scanned into the Madison, WI post office.

At 1pm it was scanned into the Milwaukee Post office (that’s about 2 hours the wrong direction)

At 5pm it was scanned into the Oak Creek WI Post office. (Progress?)

At 5am this morning it was…scanned back into the Milwaukee post office. Mad

I've got a package coming from Texas that was shipped Priority Mail on the 22nd. It's been "in transit to the next facility" ever since.

If it never shows, I'll get my money back, but I can't replace the item in the box for what this one cost me and it has not been made in 70-80 years.

Don't know their problem is.
Two incidents this week:
1) I send a rebate to Steiner via PRIORITY MAIL last Sunday (I know they aren't open but I dropped it off at the PO out of convenience).
It got there yesterday (Saturday) ~ supposed to take 2-3 days max.
2) Ordered a AR Handguard from Primary Arms last Saturday, had it shipped (also Priority Mail) because shipping was cheap even though it is only about 10 miles away, don't like waiting for orders there and the rain was outragous.
Just got the order Friday - same city - PRIORITY MAIL.

Getting bad. Frown

Ah yes….the good ol’ reliable USPS Big Grin
I work part time at our LGS….two remarkable USPS experiences for ya:
1. Store is closed on Monday and Tuesday….one Monday morning one of the local PD dispatchers is on her way to work, passed the store noting a long box leaning against the front door….the store front is on the main drag…hundreds of vehicles pass by every hour. The dispatcher knew we were closed those days, mentions to the desk sergeant when she gets to work….they send a car and pick up the M1 Garand thats just sitting there! Wtf!
2. I usually open the store on Wednesdays…went to grab the mail from the mail box….hmmmm, what’s this? A pistol left in the box! Again…another WTF moment!
Both incidents brought to the attention of the post master … you can’t make that shit up

are you serious Clark,

USPS or most companies Twatter feed or other social media are run by marketing and or advertising types,

go to the website (USPS.com) and call the customer service number, give the tracking and talk to them,

Tweet/twat/X would be a waste of time

File a lost package search request on USPS.com. I had one come to the OKC hub (final destination) and a few hours later it got a destination scan in Detroit. No updates for several days. Filed the search request and magically 3 days later I got it. Don't bother with twitter or wherever just file directly.
