That is a surprise, perhaps it's that being small it hit low on the front end below the bumper sensors.
Maybe when you rebuild it a steel bumper guard is in order!

I'm thinking you might want to replace the license plates with a hunting license!

One of the reasons I carry is if something like this happens I can dispatch the animal with minimal suffering. Iv'e done two deer this way neither one hit by me but by someone directly in front of me.
Where I am that is a very bad idea last time I checked. Something to do w/ "firearm" and "roadside" as I remember it.
And to add, SC, that sucks. No wonder you have a dashcam w/ all that goes on down there, it seems.
I don't make phone calls and I don't ask questions. I make certain it's safe and I'm firing through the deer's head and if it passes through into the ground. Drag it in the ditch and off the highway where no one else might hit it again and all is good. I'm doing a service imo.

dsiets^^^ I'm all for that, LMS. It's the most obvious thing for any rational person to do.
But for me, in the 'burbs, w/ a car damaged where police are called to report an accident, I have to sit and watch lest I be charged for discharging a firearm along the roadside. Probably leftover from laws against poaching. I'm all for your method. Only pointing out it might have consequences for others who want to do the right thing but aren't familiar w/ local laws.
ETA:I had a motorcycle vs. deer accident along our property and the deer ended up in the trees behind our house. A deputy shot the deer when they arrived. It most likely would not have gone well for me if I had done that. You know, because only LE are trained to use firearms.

patwWell that stinks. Glad to hear you are ok. It is amazing at how many critters cut in front of you/people in general. I think there is something in the air with Rogues lately. I seen a couple vehicle wrecks the past couple days and each one had a Rogue. Yesterday my daughter got into a wreck, due to an idiot cutting in front of her and her Rogue was destroyed. They are solid cars.

What I see in the video: A two lane road out in the country, at night. A bear runs out of the woods, the camera is jostled, presumably when the bear and the vehicle collide. The bear is not shown after the collision, so nothing gory in that sense.
If I understand correctly, the bear was wounded badly but not killed, DNR (Department of Natural Resources?) was called and they dispatched the bear.

parabellumAll members need to know that I don't want to see stuff like this in this forum, don't even want to know about it. There's already enough misery in this world.
The only deaths allowed to be shown here are predators of the two-legged variety, which is something altogether different than an innocent creature being killed.

parabellumA lock will be better, as it will allow members to see this statement of policy. I don't think that's even necessary. It's already posted, been up for some time.

ScreamingCockatooI stay out of the bird hunting threads for that reason.
I don't like killing things. I'm actually upset over injuring the animal.

parabellumI believe you and you shouldn't feel as if I'm addressing this with you out of some sort of grudge. You'll agree, though, that merely posting text about it is not the same as posting video of the incident.

RightwireYou really should just get an all species hunting license. Then you'll NEVER see another wild animal.
