That was impressive on many levels.

Possibly before the video begins, they figured out somehow that the osprey is tired and/or will be cooperative? In the absence of some sort of positive sign, I can't imagine even attempting that without some massive hand protection.

But, I'm glad he did and that it turned out well for all involved. Smile

I thought the same. The bird was truly helpless when he began. Perhaps the time it took to figure out what to cut when and start to unravel it all allowed the bird to calm down a bit and reach a shallow level of trust, for the moment.

In other words: the guy is definitely helping me. Even with his unauthorized proximity to me, maybe I should put my desire to attack him on a back burner while he frees me from the devils' entanglements.

Whatever happened, it's still gratifying to see.

His knife is a Hubertus shell puller.

The Ospreys that came in to Monteen's were high strung. They weren't footy, but they tended to be flighty and just wanted away.

I kept my distance as not to make them harm themselves trying to fly in the recovery chamber.

The bird in the video is exhausted. Another day and it would have perished.
