The 9/11 Memorial "Tear Drop" sit's directly across from NYC, in Bayonne New Jersey, just the other side of the Statue of Liberty, yet we hear nothing about it. This absolutely beautiful, 100 ft. tall monument was gifted to the people of the United States by the people of Russia in 2006, in memory of all those who lost their lives on that fateful day, September 11, 2001.
The breaking in the cracked facade forms the shape of the two towers. The giant suspended tear drop signifies the tears of the entire world that day.

And if you never knew this.... Now you do!
Never Forget!

Speaking of diseases, how sick must one be to insert something like that in a thread about a 9/11 memorial? Roll Eyes

I sincerely hope you can be cured.

The memorial has been mentioned on the forum previously, but it's a touching gift and, for all the conflicts we have with Russia, serves as a reminder of how they, along with many of our allies, stood with us on that tragic day.

Can someone explain the part about the broken facade being the shape of the twin towers? I’m trying to see it but can’t. Mustang please delete your post, we all step in it at times, it’s what you next that matters.

Thanks for sharing, I’ve seen this didn’t realize it was gifted.

If you look at the tan...bricks?...whatever the material is...if you trace the outside silhouette it is that of the towers like a giant rectangle like the towers were for lack of a better way to describe it

Oh please..really with all the satire crap thats posted here. Roll Eyes

Like my post said before reading the posts content and looking at the picture..what popped into my head was someone photo shopping and making a political statement against Trump on behalf of Putin. Also was looking at it on an Iphone so detail and size is a little hard to pick up on.

Lighten the hell up!

I remember seeing an article and picture of this Russian gift on the internet many years ago. There wasn't much publicity about it even back then.

For those interested, I found a few more pictures to help with the scope and the scale of the memorial.

It was not a small effort to build this. It has the names of all the victims etched into the base. (Sorry for the jumbo pic.)
